FK Beograd Powerchair Football

FK Beograd is proud to be fielding our own Powerchair Football team to compete in One Culture Support Services' SA Powerchair Football Championships for the 2022-2023 season. Our club will compete against fellow NPL-based clubs in Adelaide Comets and Modbury Jets for the coveted Championship.

What is Powerchair Football?

Powerchair Football (PCF or PF) is an adapted and inclusive version of football for people with a physical disability who utilise a powerchair for their everyday mobility needs. PCF is open to all ages, gender, and individuals from cultural and diverse backgrounds.

Fast and dynamic to play, PCF continues to grow within Australia as an inclusive and diverse sport, giving people with disabilities an opportunity to compete in high level organised sport. With national and international pathways available for powerchair footballers to follow, it is the perfect sport to join!

PCF is played on an indoor pitch the size of a basketball court, with an oversized ball 33cm in diameter. Players move, block and pass the ball using their powerchair and mounted foot-guard (also known as a bull bar or bumper bar) where passes can reach up to 20km/h when a well connected "spin kick" is performed.

What are some of the rules for Powerchair Football?

The game is played with four players on the pitch per side (including the goal-keeper), and can have up to four players on the bench for substitutions.

Games run for a duration of 40 minutes (20 minutes per half), and involve two unique rules; a specialised 2-on-1 rule during play where only one player per side can go for the ball, as well as a rule prohibiting 3 players in the designated goal area.

These rules are implemented to avoid overcrowding the pitch and to promote a free-flowing game.

How do I get involved?

FK Beograd Powerchair Football will be competing in One Culture Support Service's SA Powerchair Football Championship (SAPFC) for the upcoming 2022-2023 season. The Championship is held every season at The Lights Community and Sports Centre on 244 - 270 East Parkway Corner Hampstead Road and, East Pkwy, Lightsview SA 5085 on Saturdays from 12:30pm-4:00pm.
